Frequently asked questions

How do I enter?

Record your performance and upload it to YouTube — Unlisted is fine. Then complete the entry form and pay the fee. Once both are done, your entry is confirmed and there is nothing further to send us.

How do I upload a video to YouTube?

Sign in to YouTube, click Create in the top-right corner, then Upload videos, and select your file. Click Edit on the file to set its title and description.

How do I keep the video private, so only the adjudicators see it?

Choose Unlisted rather than Private. Unlisted means the video does not appear in search or on your channel, but anyone with the link — including the adjudicators — can watch it. Private would stop them seeing it at all.

In YouTube Studio, open Content, hover the video, then use the Visibility dropdown and save.

Can I change my video after I have entered?

Yes. Your entry page lets you replace the link any number of times until the submission deadline, after which it becomes read-only. You can enter first and record later.

What if something goes wrong while entering?

Email info@theworldharmonies.org with the details and we will reply within three business days.

When are results announced?

On this website, on the date given on the competition page. Please do not email to ask for early or individual results — we are not able to answer those.

What if I cannot attend the Winners Recital?

Email info@theworldharmonies.org within two weeks of the results and we will arrange for your prize and certificate to reach you.

Is the entry fee refundable?

No. The entry fee is not refundable once it has been paid, including if you withdraw your entry or never submit a video.

There is one exception: if we call off a competition before judging, we refund in full. The terms of entry set this out, along with the statutory cancellation rights of consumers in the United Kingdom and the EEA.
